September 4, 2023 - Provo MTC

What's up everyone! I hope you are all doing so well, and have had a great couple weeks. I've been doing well over the last few weeks. The MTC has been solid, but I am very ready to get out of here. This is my last week here, and I leave Thursday morning at like 4 am, so that's tight. I travel throughout all of Thursday and Friday and then get to my mission on Friday morning. I am super excited even though I can't speak very great Portuguese, it's just gonna be dope to be there. 


Other than the fact that I leave for Brazil this week, there isn't really a whole lot else to write about. Class is whatever and the Portuguese is coming along, I've been on my grind. Me and my comp go and play volleyball on the sand some days and other days we go workout. Life here in the MTC doesn't really change a lot, but that's alright. We had a devotional this week from Elder Godoy of the 70 and he talked about his conversion story and it was awesome. His wife also spoke about the power of the Book of Mormon which was also really good. We also said goodbye to our teachers this week because they have to go teach new districts because there are so many missionaries here, so we were combined with two other districts going to Brazil for this last week. 

On Sunday, we also had this really awesome testimony with our branch. Basically the whole branch leaves this week so we had so many people who wanted to share. It's been so dope to get to know these awesome missionaries and hear their testimonies, the spirit was definitely there. We also heard testimonies from missionaries from Japan, Tonga, and the philippines. 

Here's a list of good things I read this week that I want to share with you guys: 
Waiting on the Lord by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
This is one of my favorite conference talks ever. I have read it a lot. It focuses on having faith in tough times and having patience in waiting on the Lord to help you. I like to read it when I am struggling with different things.
Tears, Trials, Trust, Testimony by President Thomas S. Monson
This is a dope talk. It talks a lot about missionary work and the things that go into it. I read it because it talks about my 5x great grandpa Peter Nielson, but it ended up being an awesome read all about missionary work.
3. Ether 12
This is an awesome chapter of the Book of Mormon. Verses 4 and 6 are awesome for teaching about faith and prayer, but also the whole chapter is awesome!

  What up everyone! How are you guys doing? Hope you guys have a had a solid one. This week was super awesome! We made a goal to find good people this week and it went really well! We had some really good lessons but it was also a real grind so pday is coming in clutch. We managed to get 4 people in church this week which were all new people from this week! It was a big time miracle. We are also hoping to get two people on date for this last weekend in March! This month and transfer have really flown by. Time flies on the mission really. Next week we have transfers so I hope that I stay here but I'm willing to go wherever, it's all on the Lord's timing rn. This week we also made a big effort to go out with members and we had some awesome member lessons. The spirit is always so strong when we get out with the members and it's been so helpful! The work here is going really well and I'm super excited. The miracles are coming which has been awesome. Just gotta keep grin...

February 12, 2024 -- Sao Miguel dos Campos, Aracaju, Brazil

Whats up everyone! Hope you guys are doing well. I'm solid. This week was kinda crazy. We've been living with six elders in one house for like a week now and it's been crazy. It's so hard to keep anything clean or organized and we have like no food but it's been way fun.  This week was good tho! Weve been progressing a lot and I've just been taking it one day at a time. We have two dates marked for this Sunday with Diana and her son. Please pray from them! They are so awesome and doing awesome stuff! I'm super excited for them. This week might also be my last week here in São Miguel so I'm hoping to finish out strong! We've been working with some other people too and we were able to have 4 people in church this week which was awesome. It's the most We've been able to get in a Sunday here in São Miguel. February 26, 2024 - Estancia, Sergipe, Brazil

Hey what's up everyone! How are you guys doing? Hope you guys had a great weekend. I'm gonna make this email short because it's only been like 3 days.  But I made it to my new area! It's a super cool place. It's a city called Estância and it's super beautiful. There's like rivers all throughout the city and it's super cool. The people here are awesome and the food is too. Our first night a member invited us over to eat with them and the food was sooooo good. Probably one of the best meals I've had here on the mission. This area is a branch so it's a little different than the places that I've been at, but it's so awesome. The members are so great and church yesterday was awesome. I got to introduce myself in sacrament meeting and everyone was super cool. I'm super excited for this transfer! Being a District Leader has been pretty cool so far too.  The transfer was kind of crazy tho because our first bus ride took way long so we missed ...
